INSTANT MESSAGING

Saving a chat or instant meeting transcript to a file
During a chat or instant meeting, you can save the transcript to a file. You can then open the transcript from anywhere on your computer.

Note: The features described in this topic are available only if your company has an IBM® Lotus® Sametime® server. The Macintosh version of Lotus Notes® does not support some instant messaging features, for example, instant meetings and multiple-person chats.

To save a transcript to a file, follow these steps:

1. In the chat or meeting window, click Meeting > Save As File.

2. (Optional) Change the default file name and location.

3. Click Save.

When you open the file, a timestamp is displayed for each chat entry. Deselecting the Add timestamp to message preference affects only messages or meeting invitations that you receive -- saved transcripts always have timestamps.
