Install Notes multi-user
To install Notes on Citrix Presentation Server version 4.5, use the following procedure:
1. Obtain the "Notes Client Only" standard client install kit. This kit allows you to install Notes multi-user.
2. Log directly onto the Citrix server (not remotely) as the Administrator.
3. From the Microsoft® Windows Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs.
4. Click Add New Programs and select the Notes install kit from step 1.
6. Read the Welcome screen and click Next.
7. Read and accept the license agreement terms and click Next.
8. Enter your user name and organization, choose the "Multi-user Install" setting, and click Next.
9. Accept the default install directory or specify a different directory installation directory and click Next.
Delete and modify various NOTES.INI settings
The Notes installation program creates a NOTES.INI file in the following two locations.
1. Delete the NOTES.INI file in the %SYSTEMROOT% directory.
2. Open the NOTES.INI file in Documents and Settings\AllUsers\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data and add the following parameters:
KitType=1
SharedDataDirectory=C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data\Shared
InstallMode=1
InstallType=6
Note InstallMode is the NOTES.INI parameter that represents the Notes standard configuration.
Modify registry key settings
Because Notes is not Terminal Services-aware, the installer does not properly update the registry keys to reflect the multi-user installation.
Note The information below is presented as a guideline for making relevant changes within the Microsoft Windows Registry.
